Ways To Make Change

Disappointment from election outcomes, coupled with the anxiety sparked by divisive rhetoric, hate speech, and widespread othering, can feel overwhelming. But these challenges are not just obstacles—they are a powerful call to action. At On The Move, we are resolutely committed to creating inclusive, supportive spaces for communities that have long been marginalized.

Your financial support is not just a donation; it is the lifeblood of programs that empower youth, uplift LGBTQ+ individuals, and provide critical resources to those most impacted by systemic injustice. Together, we can transform frustration into meaningful progress, and turn fear into a beacon of hope. We will ensure that every person has the chance to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.

This moment demands that we stand together—united and unyielding. Your support is more crucial than ever. Join us in making real, lasting change.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs):

For those age 73 or older, qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) also count toward the year's required minimum distribution (RMD).

  • Each eligible IRA owner can exclude up to $105,000 in QCDs from taxable income. Married couples, if both meet qualifications and have separate IRAs, can donate up to $210,000 combined. QCDs don’t require itemizing deductions.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Distribution:

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving vehicle like a charitable savings account. It provides an immediate tax benefit to you, and allows you to easily support OTM and our many programs over time.

Employer Matching:

Compound your impact!  More employers than ever are offering matching programs and even if we need to provide some support/paperwork to facilitate this, we are eager to do so. If they don’t have a program - your request may be what fuels the creation of one.

Planned/Legacy Giving:

  • Include On The Move and/or the program you are passionate about in your Wills/Trusts

  • Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT)

    • Charitable remainder trusts are irrevocable trusts that let you donate assets to charity and draw annual income for life or for a specific time period.

More information about charitable contributions in general can be found here.
