ArtLinks arts integration program is an educational approach that pairs art instruction – including music, visual art, theater, and dance – with other academic subjects. OTM employs local artists to collaborate with teachers at Salvador and McPherson Elementary Schools to re-design curriculum, meeting the California state standards while helping teachers infuse creative expression into their students’ daily experience. ArtLinks provides 833 students with an opportunity to learn in different modalities, express themselves artistically and to demonstrate competence and mastery potentially for the only time in the day.

What’s next? OTM plans to continue to implement the existing programs and become a training site for other schools in the District.
