Hmmm...

Today I realized that I really like my job.

It took me a while to get to this position--and this mindset for that matter-- having worked almost a new job for every year I've been out of school. At last, I feel that I'm in a position that challenges me, forces me to develop greater skills, and gives me the opportunity to work with so many different people, both inside and outside of my organization.

I'm thinking more and more about how broad social change work can be. I work for a non-profit policy institute, and I can really see the influence of my co-workers to move funders and other movers and shakers to invest in communities and regions in a different way.

Someone once told me that they didn't give a fuck about policy, and I wasn't in the position at the time to argue differently. And now I am. Change is possible, and it's very likely that it won't happen from just one front or two.
