Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow

Sonia Ortega OTM has established On The Verge, an effort to develop the next generation of committed, emerging community leaders. On The Verge offers a structured, inquiry-based model of leadership development that ultimately results in young leaders training other young leaders.

To date, 110 young leaders have participated in OTV, composing a total of twelve cohorts. The impact on the lives of these individuals and the organizations they serve has been tremendous.

On The Verge…
•    Develops the skills of people who are committed to making a difference in their community.
•    Initiates projects which give community members the opportunity to experience leadership.
•    Brings together a multi-generational community of emerging and veteran leaders, learning together to remove the barriers that prevent our collective success.
•    Models an exemplary approach to professional and community development.

The services On the Verge provides include:

  • Individualized assessments and learning plans for each member’s leadership development
  • One-on-one coaching which works to fully develop each member’s performance and leadership
  • Small group meetings in which coaches build a team’s mutual accountability for one another’s development and growth
  • Reflection meetings in which coaches develop member’s capacity for emotional awareness and critical thinking
  • Large Group meetings in which the entire group develops their team, receives leadership training and plans their community project
